Senior Design Manager - Interior Design

ABOUT MAINTENANCE OPERATIONS & CAPITAL PROJECTS (MCP)   This division supports all R&DE operations and provides strong stewardship of its facilities by delivering daily and preventive maintenance, executing 50-year asset renewal model, managing design and construction of capital and other essential projects, infusing sustainability, safeguarding occupational health and safety, monitoring life-safety systems and after-hours security, overseeing furnishings/fixtures and parts inventory, administering move services and the fleet, managing utilities and waste, ensuring emergency preparedness and business continuity, and providing space and property administration.   JOB PURPOSE:   Manage large and complex projects with high performance risk, driving project(s) to completion. May manage more than one large project simultaneously. Work is typically comprised of 80% time contribution towards project leadership and 20% as a technical contributor.   CORE DUTIES : Perform the full range of project management cycle: initiating, planning, executing, monitoring and controlling, and closing. Independently lead and direct projects requiring high levels of functional integration and involving multiple disciplines to be managed. Direct development of an action plan, and estimate requirements for resources, including management, labor, materials, and time required to complete project. Facilitate discussions and negotiations to drive recommendation consensus. Develop and help execute comprehensive change management strategy and communication plan relative to project scope and stakeholders; orchestrate and lead change management methodologies underlying project success. These elements typically delineate the project management involved at this level: charter origination or scope identification and shaping, scope definition; # of disciplines /stakeholders to manage is across-university impact, and city, county constituents; risk-manage, control and report on riskassociated with more complicated projects, affecting division or program as it relates to their project portfolio and risk sharing and control is skewed further to the project manager; project complexity involves synthesizing complex technical data and driving decisions; primary university relationship is at the senior associate/administrative dean, faculty and directors level cumulative budget/scope up to $250k. ADDITIONAL DUTIES: Provide a full range of senior level interior design services including but not limited to: conceptual design, design development, design presentations, development of cadd drafted furniture plans, product research, code review, disability compliance, subject matter expertise, FF&E selections, development of FF&E specifications, development of budgets, submittal review, RFI review, consultant coordination, construction administration, project close-out, archiving information Work independently and as part of a team.  Serve as department's Senior Design Manager.  Lead, mentor and collaborate with department's Design Managers and other staff. Complete assignments as directed by department and University senior leadership.  Other duties may also be assigned. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:   Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in a related field and five years relevant experience or a combination of education and experience. Experience in management of projects with extensive size/complexity and moderate performance risk, including project planning, scheduling, tracking, and budgeting, or combination of education and relevant experience.   Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Highly effective written and oral communication skills to address a wide variety of audiences. Ability to productively assemble, engage, and lead cross-functional teams. Demonstrated senior project management ability to employ integration, scope time management, cost, quality, human resources, communications, risk, and procurement components. Ability to balance customer expectations with project reality. Demonstrated resilience, diplomacy, influence, relationship building, and problem solving skills in a variety of situations. Keen grasp of interpersonal and impact awareness. Depth of knowledge in technical discipline/domain needed to deliver projects. Demonstrated, in-depth range of experience as a senior management level interior design professional with extensive primary leadership responsibilities in the following project types: retail; commercial kitchens; fine, casual and quick service dining; commercial hospitality; higher education projects in the areas of housing, dining and hospitality. Superior, conceptual, graphic and presentation skills. Autocad, Photoshop, illustrator, Microsoft office suite proficiency. NCIDQ, ASID, IIDA preferred. 81077

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
