Cancer Metabolism Researcher

81130 The Dixon Lab in the Department of Biology is seeking a Basic Life Science Research Associate (Ph.D.-level). We study exciting problems at the interface of cancer cell metabolism and cell death, using a variety of modern tools and approaches. Duties will include: Performing a wide range of CRISPR genome-editing, mutagenesis and overexpression experiments in human cancer cell models to understand the function of a novel enzyme linked to cancer cell metabolism and cell survival. Mouse xenograft tumor experiments to examine the function of select metabolic genes in vivo. Working with others in the lab and our metabolomics collaborators at outside institutions to collect, analyze and interpret data. A Ph.D. in a Biology-related field is required, with at least two years' experience performing molecular cloning and CRISPR genome editing, in any system. Experience with mammalian tissue culture, transfections and lentivirus is essential. This will be a one-year fixed term position.
