The Department of Classics seeks to make a new appointment in conjunction with the Center for Comparative Studies in Race and Ethnicity (CSRE) at the level of Assistant Professor (tenure-track) or tenured Associate Professor. We seek a colleague who will contribute fully to both units, with teaching duties shared equally between the two.
The successful candidate will have dual competencies: both in Classics (includingGreek and Latin language and literature; Greco-Roman philosophy;archaeology and history of the ancient Mediterranean)and in the comparative study of race and ethnicity (as pursued by the Center for the Comparative Study of Race and Ethnicity).The successful candidate will have a PhD in Classics or a closely related field.We especially seek to promote work that broadens the investigation of race and ethnicity as complex social factors; examines how these may have shaped the course of history and contemporary society; and innovatively explores connections between ancient and modern worlds.Applicants for the Assistant Professor rank should submit threeletters of recommendation, CV, teaching statement and a writing sample. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
