This Research Administrator position will be home based from anywhere within the United States Research Administrator 2 - Clinical Trials Office The Stanford Cancer Institute (SCI) is one of an elite number of National Cancer Institute-Designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers in the country, and is a prominent, dynamic, growing and complex Institute within the Stanford University School of MedicineThe SCI actively works to build synergies and collaborations among faculty with cancer-relevant expertise from four Schools and over 30 departments across Stanford UniversityWe seek a Research Administrator 2 to help us enact our mission to reduce cancer mortality through comprehensive programs of cancer research, treatment, education and outreachGiven the SCI's mission, breadth, and depth, it employs over 320 staff members in a fast-paced, team-oriented, and forward-thinking environment with tremendous opportunities for personal and professional growthThe Cancer Clinical Trials Office (CCTO) is an integral component of the Stanford Cancer Institute since the vital work performed there enables our adult and pediatric cancer centers to translate research from the laboratory into the clinical settingYou will be working with an unparalleled leading-edge community of faculty and staff who are fundamentally changing the world of health care in the cancer arenaReporting to the CTO Director of Business Services & Finance, the Research Administrator 2 will be conversant in the goals, mission and priorities of the Institute, and utilize this knowledge to serve as the Institutional Representative for working on amendments for sponsored cancer clinical trials and be the point of contact for sponsor and University clinical research grant and contract administratorsWorking in collaboration with faculty, business managers and other departments, hospital and University staff, the Research Administrator 2, assists the Financial Manager to receive the requests and gather all of the necessary documents for processing the amendments of ongoing clinical trialsThe RA 2 will ensure that the process is timely, compliant and includes accurate amendment contractsWe are seeking candidates with excellent oral, written, and communication skills and extreme attention to detailOur staff run toward challenges, and you will have a demonstrated history of doing the same with a high degree of professionalism, initiative and flexibilityResponsibilities will include protocol review and interpretation for the amendments, interpretation and application of pertinent government regulations and guidelines, develops the amendment budgets, negotiates and provides strategic advice to the PI, ensuring that the contract budgets and payment schedules/terms meets sponsor, University, hospital and School pre-and post- award guidelines/regulationsResponsibilities include processing amendments for ongoing studies, entering and attaching data and documents for these amendments to the various database, perform budget checks for new studies, generate purchase requisitions and reimbursements as well as various journal entries for the CCTODuties also include:
Participate with principal investigator in the preparation of the administrative components of proposals within parameters of sponsored and non-sponsored research guidelinesOversee and communicate submission process, both paper and electronic; review documents for completeness and complianceDevelop, prepare, and finalize project budgets, and provide budget justificationServe as liaison and active partner between principal investigators, Office of Sponsored Research, research groups, and other departments; respond to sponsor inquiriesCollaborate with Office of Sponsored Research to ensure awards are set up properly and cost-sharing requirements are fulfilled; initiate cost transfersReview and approve expenditures, advise on post award spending and commitment activity, and oversee compliance related to fund and revenueDevelop and communicate reports supporting project status; create effective forecasting and decision aidesParticipate in contract closeout process; submit final reports and certificatesCompile information and documents needed for audit inquiriesUnderstand, apply, and advise on university and government policies for projectsServe as a resource on subject area and overall technical resource to principal investigator and other university staffParticipate in and contribute to process improvementsLead other staff in group projectsMay participate as a mentor and provide cross-training as needed.

Qualifications:
Previous experience with Clinical trial ManagementHas Oncology experienceExperience in working and communicating with upper Management/FacultyStanford or Academic Institution experience preferredWorking knowledge of Stanford financial systems is preferred including SeRA, Oracle systemsPrior experience managing budgets, billing and accounts receivable a plusStrong client service orientationEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):
Bachelor's degree and three years of job-related experience, or combination of education and experienceKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED):
Basic knowledge of governmental regulationsAbility to understand, interpret, and communicate policies and proceduresExcellent oral, written, and communication skillsExcellent analytical skills; demonstrated proficiency in Excel and web-based toolsStrong accounting skills; knowledge of accounting principlesAbility to complete Cardinal Curriculum I and II within first year in roleKnowledge of procurement needs, including sole-sourcing, cost analyses, vendor requirements, and small business reportingKnowledge of property management requirements related to Stanford or non-Stanford title of equipment and fabricationsCompetency in project managementExtreme attention to detailAbility to work well independently, but also to seek or offer assistance when neededAbility to review a proposal or manage a project with understanding of the overall scope and goal of each sponsored projectExcellent time management and organizational skillsCERTIFICATIONS & LICENSES:
Cardinal Curriculum I and II must be completed to remain in this positionCertified Accountant or Auditor or similar credential desiredPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
